I'd do it myself if I knew any useful programming languages (Fortran and Matlab aren't exactly the best for this sort of thing).A new version of RedNotebook Portable has been released. If other people feel this to be as useful as I think it would be, maybe someone could have a look at programming it. It would look a little like the "Download new software" dialogue except that it would display the Apps I already have. Ideally however, I would love to have a function/program where I simply click on "Clone/Replicate Portable Apps" which brings me to a window where I can select the destination folder and a tick list of all my apps so that I can simply tick and choose which ones to take with me and which ones to leave behind. I currently have to select the program folders i want to copy individually and create the right structure on a new USB stick. The main purpose of Beta 5 was to debut the Updater so you can keep all your software up to date, start testing our brand new theming engine (with 32 themes built-in) so you can make the menu look the way you want it. The problem is this: I use a massive Portable Apps (PA) folder with almost all the software on my PC at home but often want to put just a selection of the PAs onto a USB stick or someone else's computer. We've just posted the Beta 5 of the upcoming 2.0 Platform (codename: Leo) release for testers and translators. The idea is simply for a small program that reads my apps list and lets me copy the launcher and any programs I chose to a new location. ![]() I have an idea for a new portable app which would probably be fairly simple to write for a pro. ![]()
